ESG Strategy

Urban transportation accounts for 23% of global CO₂ emissions, while millions of bicycles lie idle in garages. VierCycle addresses this critical gap through a comprehensive ESG strategy: transforming abandoned bicycles into affordable eBikes (Environmental & Social impact), establishing transparent local manufacturing and fleet management (Governance), and creating circular economy models that extend vehicle lifecycles rather than demanding new production. Our "Upgrade Not Replace" philosophy directly tackles resource waste, energy consumption, and accessibility challenges that conventional solutions ignore.

Environmental

  • CO₂ Reduction: Significantly reduce carbon vs motorcycles.
  • Circular Economy: 'Upgrade Not Replace' extends vehicle lifecycle.

Social

  • Democratization: Lower cost access for vulnerable groups.
  • Job Creation: Training local maintenance technicians.

Governance

  • Core Tech: Local BMS & IoT for quality control.
  • Transparency: Transparent fleet operation platform.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Increase access to green, low-cost, and inclusive transport. Measurement criteria: 3,000 users access eBikes at a cost of only 40–60% of a new eBike. Serving the groups: middle- to low-income people, the elderly, women, and people with limited physical ability. 70% of target trips under 5 km are switched to low-emission vehicles.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Promote the "Upgrade instead of making new vehicles" model, extending vehicle lifespan and reducing industrial waste. Measurement criteria: Directly reuse 3,000 existing bicycle frames, avoid new production of 3,000 complete vehicles, and reduce life cycle emissions (embedded carbon) from vehicle frames (12–15kg metal and 360Wh lithium-ion battery), mechanical components, vehicle spare parts, and new production logistics. Establish a circular economy model for micro-mobility in urban areas.

SDG 13: Climate Action

SDG 13: Climate Action

Reduce CO₂ emissions from short-distance urban transport by converting existing vehicles to electric-assist eBikes. Average reduction of 0.15–0.3 tonnes of CO₂ per vehicle per year. With 3,000 vehicles, the total emission reduction achieved: 450–1,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

Sustainability First

Our "Upgrade instead of making new vehicles" model extends vehicle lifespan and reduces industrial waste. By directly reusing 3,000 existing bicycle frames and avoiding new production of 3,000 complete vehicles, we reduce life cycle emissions from vehicle frames, mechanical components, and logistics chains while establishing a circular economy model for micro-mobility in urban areas.
